These Five Unassuming Traits Can Give You an Unfair Advantage at Winning the Game of Life
While I've had my fair share of failures, I've enjoyed victories throughout my adult life. And when I look back, I can trace these wins to five traits.
I call them unfair advantages because not everyone thinks they matter. They may seem mundane until you realize how powerful they can be.
And what's great is you can learn these traits, as long as you have the will.
Feedback is excellent, but it can be a crutch. This happens when what we're looking for isn't constructive feedback but validation. We want to feel good about our decisions, so we ask for others' approval.
Another problem with seeking feedback all the time is that you waste precious time. Not everything has to be run past others. In any case, I've found that people have differing views. Soliciting everyone's input can lead to more confusion than clarity.
But set your limits. At some point, you just have to be confident and do what you want. And if you screw up, so be it. In most cases, mistakes are reversible. Get back up and do better next time.
