We are who we are and not an eternal label

Sometimes, people say that they are what they are doing or what they have. For instance, a person who is a manager or any other professional sometimes when saying “I am a manager” or “I am a teacher,” what it actually means is that at that moment in life, they are being a manager or a teacher, but not that they actually are, as an eternal label. Another example is a person saying “I am depressed/I have depression” or “I am not good at this.” It means that the person has depression or is not good at something. But eventually, with effort, work and help, the person can get rid of depression or start being good at that something.

Humans are adaptive and can change according to beliefs, situation and environment. Can’t you think of something about a behavior you used to have in the past and now completely changed? Or some view or position you had before, and now it’s different? We are in constant evolution (for good and for bad as evolution can also be to the bad side). This possibility of changing is great, as new challenges and skills can be achieved, and it’s never a sentence that can’t be changed.Of course, sometimes it is not viable and not easy to change or do something that you want, at least not in the short term. But it’s important to know that change is always possible, with its risks and benefits.
