The Best Stress Therapy is a Dirt Therapy
It’s a wonder we don’t all run off to join an actual circus. I mean, who wouldn’t want to trade paperwork for tightrope walking, right? Throughout a typical week, I’m managing multiple accounts, keeping up with trends, and ensuring everyone’s posts are perfect and timely. Amidst the never-ending to-do lists and bottomless coffee cups, I found myself yearning for something more — something natural. You know that feeling when you’ve just spent an hour wrestling with a stubborn yoga pose or trying to hit a new personal best at the gym? Now, don’t get me wrong, I love a good sweat session. But some days, even after the most vigorous workout, the stress still lingers, like a party guest who overstays their welcome.
Recently, I’ve been immersing myself in nature. I’ve been spending one to two hours every week in the great outdoors, completely unplugged and undisturbed. It’s been the perfect antidote to my chaos-infused weeks. Sometimes, it’s a leisurely saunter through my local hiking trail, where the chirping birds become my favorite playlist and the rustling leaves my stress-relieving soundtrack. Other times, it’s as simple as stepping into my backyard, playing in the dirt and tending to my garden. Nature has a magical way of hitting the reset button on your brain. It’s like taking a deep, cleansing breath after being underwater for too long. The world seems to slow down, the noise fades away, and everything feels… manageable.
