Finding The Space Between

Finding The Space Between Your Thoughts Is Simpler Than You Think

As a chronic ‘overthinker’, I’ve relished being busy. I’ve always had several projects on the go. I often start something new (even before the other stuff is finished). And I regularly feel overwhelmed. In ten years as a Wellness Coach, I’ve tried and seen the results of dozens of different therapies and techniques. They all have their merits but miss one crucial aspect: ‘We are more than our thoughts’.Overwhelm (which often results in stress, anxiety, and/or depression) is the curse of our times. We live in a world where thinking is celebrated. Where pushing through, hustling, and making it happen are encouraged. So it’s easy to get into a habit of overthinking.Think about it (pun intended!) If you want something to happen, be that in business, life, or a creative endeavour, and you do an Internet search on the next steps, you’ll be bombarded withIt feels like simple advice is not worth listening to, and I think it is because we don’t know HOW to take the advice.I mean how do you get quiet when your mind is racing? You want someone to tell you how to do it, right? So, we learn to try harder, think more, and struggle longer.I like to describe overthinking as a washing machine head. When thoughts are going round and round on the spin cycle. And no matter how many times they go around, there seems to be no resolution.
