Right-Wingers Think Alex Jones is a Hero, Real World Views Him as a Pariah
One of the legacies of the Trump era is a partisan divide over reality. Former President Donald Trump created a situation where his followers had a certain view of reality, and “liberal America” had a different view of reality. A great example of this is the Covid-19 pandemic. Trump’s followers listened to the Orange idol and didn’t believe it was real. They refused to wear masks or take the vaccine and died in droves. The moral of that story is there is only one truth. Unfortunately, this partisan divide over reality still exists. I was shocked at a Mediate article that reported conspiracy grifter Alex Jones received a standing ovation during a video appearance at a Talking Point USA conference. Apparently, the conference attendees felt that since Jones is hated by the mainstream media, he must be doing something right.Charlie Kirk, the founder of Talking Point USA, introduced Jones as “the most banned man in America.” Kirk, a fellow conspiracy theorist, also appears on Jones’ “InfoWars” show. According to Mediaite, Kirk then explained “the Great Reset,” the latest conspiracy theory being promoted by the right-wing. Right-wingers claim the Great Reset is a nefarious plan by “the elites” to subjugate humanity. They also claim the Covid pandemic was the opening salvo.The Great Reset has also been promoted by far-right conspiracy theorist Glenn Beck, which should give you a good idea of how legitimate it is, and FOX News’ neo-Nazi wonder twins Tucker Carlson and Laura Ingraham.
