The Maui Fires: The Heartbreaking Facts Surrounding The Tragedy
I have watched a TON of videos on the fires in Maui, and I, for one, am completely in shock over what happened. I have so many questions about things that happened that day.It struck me as odd that the children were kept home that day. What was the reason? Were they home for a teacher work day? After some research, I finally came up with they were out of school because they were experiencing high winds . I’m sorry, but what? I don’t know about Maui, but here in Florida it takes a Cat 2 Hurricane (at the minimum) to cancel school. This seems odd to me. A teacher was quoted saying “ Most of my parents work two and three jobs to make ends meet, so they can’t find child care last minute.” This means, a majority of the children were home alone when the fire happened. Does this make sense to anyone else? This is another fact that is mind blowing.Maui Police were posted up on Front St. in LaHaina stopping people from leaving. When questioned about why this is happening, citizens were met with “the powers that be said so.” I’m sorry, who are the powers that be? And why would they possibly send down this order. This Barricade caused the death toll to be much higher than it should have been. This makes no sense to me and someone should answer as to why this was done. They watched people run across the road and throw themselves in the water, burning alive, or drowning rather than…
