Could Boredom Change Your Life?

Its later in the day and I find myself exhausted. The problem is I didn’t do more than usual but felt like I had spent a full day working. What was going on? I mean, I ate well, slept well, got some work done, and yet felt drained. I thought it was a productive day but when I really looked at it, it was really a full day of stimulus, jumping, and reacting to everything going on. Continuously occupied with social media, reading books and articles, finishing up some school work and going, going, going. One thing to the next with little to no break. I never took the time to stop. I never let myself slow down for even a minute. Even my morning meditation was rushed.

So, I stopped. I let myself become bored. I let myself lay on the floor and stare at the ceiling. Nowhere to be and nothing to do. After about a minute I felt my body start to relax and I felt some of the tension my body drop. I just let myself sit in the boredness. Soon enough, I started to realize that this was not only okay, but it was quite pleasant and refreshing. Taking time to do absolutely nothing. Life started to feel a bit more okay.
