40 Days of Prayer and Reflection for the United States and the World
As we approach Your presence, we remember the words of Psalm 100:4–5: “Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.” Lord, we thank You for the gift of our country, the United States, a land of freedom and opportunity. We are grateful for the blessings of liberty and the diversity that enriches our nation. Help us to remember that these gifts come from You, our loving Creator. We also lift up the world before You, with all its beauty and complexity.
Your Word reminds us that Your love endures forever, and Your faithfulness continues through all generations. We are thankful for the rich tapestry of cultures, languages, and peoples that make up our global family. But, Lord, we are also aware of the challenges and struggles that our world faces. We pray for peace in places torn by conflict and violence, echoing the words of Jesus who said, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God” (Matthew 5:9).
